Dear Dr. Wilson,
I am a middle school student with a passion for computer science. I have read numerous papers from your lab. I am particularly fascinated by your research paper, “Computational higher-dimensional type theory,” where you explain the potential applications of type theory to programming. I am very interested in programming and have led and participated in numerous extracurricular programs related. I would appreciate the chance to talk with you about your lab’s research and possible interning opportunities in your lab.
I have dedicated much of my time in extracurricular activities related to computer science like robotic competitions. This year, I have led my FIRST Tech Challenge team successfully. My team was newly created, but I led them against all the difficulties and succeeded with intensive programming in Java. We achieved 1st and 2nd in the respective rounds of the competition out of 16 teams, many from high school. I know you are very busy. I can come to your office anytime outside of school hours. I have attached my resume and transcript. Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide. I look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Andrew
